Black Raspberry Ice Cream
Black raspberry ice cream is a delightful and fruity treat that captures the essence of fresh black raspberries.
Ingredients for Raspberry Ice Cream:
- 2 cups fresh or frozen black raspberries
- 1 ½ cups whole milk
- 1 ½ cups heavy cream
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 4 large egg yolks
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Notes for Best Results:
- Puree the black raspberries thoroughly to remove the seeds. An alternative method for incorporating the fruit is to wait until the custard mixture has thickened, then remove from heat and stir in the puree or powder. This works great with the puree, however the powder never appears to dissolve completely.
- You can also make Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip Ice Cream by adding the Chocolate Chips in the recipe.
